Committed to Delivering Value
At ELGAS, we are committed to delivering value, including with fair and competitive pricing.
We also know that price changes always raise questions.
Understanding what is behind these changes is important.
Like many businesses across New Zealand, ELGAS is operating in a market where costs are increasing due to inflation.
These changes are being felt across the energy sector and beyond, driven by a range of economic factors including supply chain pressures, rising operating costs, and broader commercial conditions.
Why Prices Change for 45kg Gas Bottles
- The 45kg gas bottle price can be significantly impacted by gas bottle cost of transportation. There are three distance related transportation gas bottle cost variables:
-
- Distance from original source to the main terminal
- Distance from the main terminal to the various local depots
- Distance from the local depot to your location
- Seasonality can also affect the 45kg gas bottle price and gas bottle cost, with the LPG price being generally higher during northern hemisphere winter.
- The other major variable is the constantly changing LPG gas prices exchange rate, as LPG price is internationally traded based on NZ gas price in US dollars.
Price adjustments are a natural part of operating in a dynamic market.
Over time, the cost of delivering products and services can shift due to a range of factors.
These changes are not unique to ELGAS—they affect many industries and providers across the energy sector.
At ELGAS, we work hard to absorb these increases and minimise the impact on our customers.
However, to maintain the reliability and quality of our service, pricing adjustments are sometimes necessary.
To continue offering reliable service and support, pricing may be reviewed and updated to reflect:
- Changes in supply and distribution costs
- Evolving labour and operational expenses
- Broader market conditions and economic influences
We remain committed to maintaining fair and competitive pricing, while continuing to invest in the safety, service, and support our customers rely on.
