SAFETY CHECKS RECOMMENDED FOLLOWING AN EARTHQUAKE FOR CYLINDER CUSTOMERSYour safety is paramount at all times and we recommend that you make some precautionary checks on your installation:Ensure that there are no gas smells inside your house/building or around the gas supply connection point to your property. (LPG contains a stenching agent that smells like rotten eggs if detected). A. If you detect a gas leak turnoff your cylinder supply by turning the green valve handle clockwise.B. You should also check the cylinder connection hoses to ensure they are not stretched or under strain as a result of moving cylinders. Ensure that the cylinders are upright and that the chain restraints and fixings are still in place. C. If you detect a leak then after turning off the cylinder(s) you should call a gasfitter. You can look up “Gas Fitters” in the Yellow Pages to assist you. 4. RETICULATION CUSTOMERSA. Following completion of checks of the bulk storage and the reticulation line we will make every effort to maintain normal supply . There may be ongoing testing and work being done on the mains in certain badly affected streets and gas detectors in place in areas of potential concern.
